Overview
The 2012 Chevrolet Volt is an all-new vehicle from the house of Chevrolet. The Volt is world's first mass-produced electric vehicle with extended range, providing a total range of up to 379 miles. An eminent plug-in battery/gasoline hybrid, the Volt features an electric-only mode with a range of up to 40 miles. It is a hatchback with superb vehicle dynamics, upscale materials, refinement and spirited performance of a premium sports sedan- all in an ultra-efficient package. The Chevrolet Volt comes with an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty on lithium-ion battery pack and five years of OnStar Directions and Connections service, including Automatic Crash Response, stolen vehicle assistance and connected navigation. It is offered in single very well-equipped standard trim level. A Premium Trim Package and a Rear Camera and Park Assist Package are available.
Power and performance
A lithium-ion battery pack rated at 149-horsepower (111-kilowatt) motivates the electric motor by itself for an estimated 40 miles in the city. After that, a gasoline-powered inline-4 engine primarily supplies electricity to the motor for as many as 300 additional miles. The front-wheel drive Volt is the most advanced hybrid to date and most fuel-efficient car too.
Body and styling
The standard equipment of the 2012 Chevrolet Volt include 17-inch 5-spoke forged polished-aluminum wheels, remote keyless entry, traction control system, daytime running lamps, single zone climate control, AM/FM stereo, CD player, Bluetooth functionality, navigation system, adjustable steering wheel, cruise control and cloth bucket front seats. Leather appointed seats are optional. Heated driver and passenger seat, rearview camera and leather wrapped steering wheel are available.

The standard safety features include driver, passenger airbags, OnStar package, daytime running lamps, traction control system, StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control, vehicle anti-theft system, 4-wheel ABS, 4-wheel disc brakes and remote vehicle start.
