| 2011 Volt Coming To Colonial Chevrolet |
| Summary |
Norfolk, VA, October 22 -- Colonial Chevrolet is preparing for the November release of the 2011 Chevrolet Volt, the company's groundbreaking plug-in hybrid. Intended primarily for use as an electric car, this 4-passenger, 5-door hatchback operates in pure electric mode whenever possible, only relying on the small, 4-cylinder gas engine as a last resort. As a result, the Volt promises a low carbon footprint, exceptional fuel economy, and modest cost of ownership.
The Volt also promises to be easy to live with, with its roughly 40-mile electric range being sufficient for the average daily commute. Recharging can be done overnight through a common household plug, and an available 240-volt charging station can cut the time down to as low as four hours. The Volt was designed to be easy and familiar to drive, and its 150 horsepower gives it performance comparable to most modern cars.
All Volts come generous equipped. A Bose audio system, navigation, XM NavTraffic, Bluetooth connectivity, 30 GB hard drive, remote keyless starting, and five years of OnStar service are all included. A full roster of safety features includes features like stability control and eight airbags, including knee bags for the driver and front passenger.
The Volt will be available at Colonial Chevrolet starting in November.
